We have an exciting opportunity to join the high performing NHS Referral Management Service as an Apprentice Patient Choice Advisor. Our service was established in 2011 and is focussed on providing a high quality telephone based service to patients. Patient Choice Advisors are the main point of contact for patients, their carers, General Practice staff and staff from other NHS organisations.

The role involves speaking to patients over the telephone to book appointments for them using our online system. In practice, this will require analysing referral letters, performing an admin quality check, offering patients a choice of appointment based on their needs and recording referral information on a bespoke database. Full comprehensive training on internal systems will be provided.

This role will enable you to learn all areas of the Referral Management Service, whilst completing a Level 2 Apprenticeship in Customer Service with Cornwall College. This role will suit you if you have some experience in customer service and are able to handle more difficult customers. Evidence of a good general education is essential together with good communication skills. You will need to be IT literate, have a confident telephone manner and good attention to detail.

Due to the exposure of the work involved you will need to be aged 18 or over.

This is a full time post working 37.5 hours per week.
